Winter Solstice, December 21
November 2nd, 2010Celebrate our 4th annual Winter Solstice on Tuesday, December 21 from 7-9pm. Join us in the Dell for star gazing, live music, fire juggling and comedy. Warm your hands by the fire while enjoying hot cider, marshmallows, and conversation with friends old and new.
About the new wall
August 3rd, 2010Visitors to the Dell will immediately notice the beautiful new dry stone wall, which was built this summer by specially trained stone masons. Many of them trained at the Dry Stone Conservancy in Lexington, Kentucky. Using local Butler sandstone and reclaimed stones from the original 100-year-old wall, each worker was able to complete approximately 5 feet of wall per day per person. Now the wall is finished, new benches will be installed on newly poured concrete pads. We are hoping the City will also provide new trash cans to complete the park’s makeover!
Free Movies!
May 22nd, 2010Join us each Tuesday evening in June for free movies in the Dell. Preceded by live musical performances by local bands, each movie will have a musical theme. June 8 – Walk The Line; June 15 – Stop Making Sense; June 22 – This is Spinal Tap; June 29 – The Harder They Come; and July 6 – The Grateful Dead Movie. Bring a blanket and some refreshments, hire a sitter for the kids, and come to the Dell for some great entertainment!
